Traditional and Non-Traditional Lab-based Research
FMG conducts focus groups, individual in-depth interviews (IDIs), behavioral experiments, cognitive tests, and usability tests in our lab. We service local, national, and global research needs for government, commercial, and non-profit organizations. The lab offers a viewing room with built-in audio and business desk areas, and is equipped with overhead cameras and real-time, secure online streaming capabilities to offsite locations. Clients and observers can view live testing sessions either remotely or from our observation room through one-way glass. The lab is used for many different purposes, including:
- Focus group moderation
- Usability sessions, which can include the use of eye tracking glasses
- In-depth interviews both in person and through virtual and video channels
Located in Arlington, VA, the lab is less than five miles from Washington, D.C. and is easily accessible for research observers and participants by car, rail, bus, bike, and foot. The Ballston-Marymount University (MU) Metro Station, serving the silver and orange Metro lines, is less than a 10 minute walk away from the facility.
The lab is a 10-minute drive from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and a 30-minute drive from Dulles International Airport (IAD).
